Glyphosate is a widely used herbicide (weeds killer) that helps control unwanted plants by blocking an enzyme they need to grow (called EPSP synthase). Without this enzyme, plants can’t produce certain essential amino acids, so they gradually die.
It’s commonly used in agriculture, gardening, and landscaping, especially with crops that are genetically modified to resist it. Glyphosate is valued because it’s effective on a wide range of weeds and breaks down relatively quickly in the environment.
